This episode of Let’s Talk Butte features excerpts of a new oral history with Frank Gardner, former president of Montana Resources, covering his early childhood in Butte and the beginning of his mining career.

Today on Let’s Talk Butte, we sit down for an oral history with Frank Gardner, whose 48 year career in mining culminated with as president of Montana Resources and its open-pit mining operations in Butte. He was interviewed by me, Clark Grant, and Aubrey Jaap, Assistant Director of the Butte Silver Bow Arches, at Frank’s home in Missoula. His oral history was collected as part of the ongoing Verdigris Project, with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
