There will be a Toys for Tots Box at the the Carpenter’s Union Hall this season in the first floor meeting room. New, unopened toys can be donated and will go to needy families.

 

Meat for Veterans

The American Legion will be passing out free meat products to veterans. Location is 3201 Wynne Ave. Saturday December 9th from 10am to 2pm. Please bring military ID.

Warm Winter Glow at the Clark Chateau

Saturday December 9th at 4pm – Enjoy a cozy evening featuring a soup bar, cozy beverages, live music and a silent auction of items generously donated by local artists and Butte Businesses.  The Clark Chateau hosts two art programs for Butte Youth, Young Creators and the Butte High school Internship Program. Both of these programs are free for students to participate in and are entirely funded by grants and donations. Help us keep these great programs going and enjoy a cozy evening at the Clark Chateau.  ​

Saturday, December 16th, 2023 – 7:30 pm

Symphony Series – Our Butte Holiday – The Butte & Anaconda High School Chorales and the Mining City Choral Union join the Butte Symphony to proclaim the season. Classical and traditional genres of music created for the holidays will be presented along with our traditional ‘Singing of the Carols’. A concert designed for the entire family and to share the wonders of the season with our Butte-Silver Bow community!

Underground Comedy Series – The Mother Lode Theatre presents live stand-up comedy on the Orphan Girl Theatre stage! It’s literally underground. Like, you have to go down stairs to get there. Because the Orphan Girl is in the basement of the Mother Lode, you know?But it’s also “underground” as in, like, “subversive”, right? Because comedy defies your expectations and rebels against the status quo and stuff.

Platinum Street Jazz Band @ The Covellite Theater

Live music and swing dance lessons with Butte’s jazz ensemble. Doors open at 6:30pm and the band will play until 10:30pm each night

Writing Our Unusual(ly) Sacred Places: A Generative Poetry Workshop – Sat Dec 16th – 2pm – Clark Chateau

Wendell Berry famously says “There are no unsacred places; there are only sacred places and desecrated places.” Butte is famously desecrated by its mining history, but is the line between sacred and desecrated so absolute? This workshop, will look at classic writing about Butte as an unusual(ly) sacred place, and then turn to some generative exercises to create our own poems.

This workshop is open to all ages and skill levels.

How to Sew a Patch or a Button

Please Bring : Patch fabric, selection of thread, practice button. Garment or textile in need of patch. Please less than 20% spandex content. Basic hand sewing supplies will be provided.
