Michaelynn Hawk is a tireless advocate for Indian peoples' rights, and works with a variety of groups to enact change both on and off reservations in Montana and the Dakotas. She is currently Executive Director of Indian Peoples Action. In this interview, she discusses a bit of her personal history, including her experience at boarding schools and her interactions with the American Indian Movement. She also expresses her frustration with recent federal budget cuts to the Indian Health Service. Michaelynn is a resident of Butte, Montana.
