Our third annual Day of Action at the Carpenter's Union Hall was a huge success, with more than 20 volunteers coming up to spend a day improving the building. In this video, you can see our volunteers removing water-damaged plaster from the ceiling of the second floor ballroom, as well as cleaning up pigeon waste off the walls of the third floor staircase and offices.
Removal of the damaged plaster on the second floor was the first major step towards renovation of this spacious community hall, where union meetings, dances, and balls once happened with regularity. Our next step is to install new electrical service to the second floor, including to the lights in the ballroom, and then replace the ceiling with new material.
Butte shall soon see the return of the opulent upper floors of the Carpenter's Union Hall. We hope you'll join us for the next Day of Action in late May 2017.
